Introduction

2010 is a special year as well: on September 28th, the Dutch Photography Museum organized the Photo Prize event. The Photo Prize aims to encourage young emerging photographic talent in the Netherlands. The prize is open to all students studying photography in the Netherlands. It is made possible by the Association of Insurers, Nikon Netherlands, the Steenbergen Foundation, and the Dutch Photography Museum in Rotterdam.

The event consists of three components: Photobook, Steenbergen Stipendium, and Other Graduations.
For the Steenbergen Stipendium, the jury members visited the graduation exhibitions of accredited art academies with an autonomous photography department. For the other two prizes, the jury evaluated all submitted works in early July 2010 and compiled a shortlist of nominees.
